Summary

Calamansac is a private 50 acre estate of meadow garden and ancient woodland which forms the western headland of Port Navas Creek and overlooks the Helford River. There are 3 self-catering holiday homes to hire on the estate – East Wing (sleeps 11), West Wing (sleeps 9) and Sail Loft (sleeps 7) – accommodating up to 27 people in total and providing a unique holiday setting for large groups or as individual holiday homes. All three properties welcome well-behaved dogs.

The East Wing has private access, parking and sole use of the large playroom. The properties have been well thought out for large groups and include wheelchair access, ground floor bedrooms and showers. Generous savings are available on low-occupancy bookings for two to three people, per wing, looking for plenty of space.

Direct access to both the Helford River and Port Navas Creek provides a unique opportunity for sailing, etc. with the launching of dinghies at most states of the tide and weather (apart from low spring tides). A private road through the woods leads to the slipway, safe anchorage and a boathouse. Falmouth is around 7 miles.

Location and Surrounding Area

Calamansac is secluded, seven miles from Falmouth and close to the village of Port Navas. Access is by a steep private road, about half a mile long, leading from the centre of the village. Calamansac provides a unique opportunity for sailing with dinghy launching at all states of the tide and in any weather. There is a road through the wood to a slipway and a safe anchorage with a lock-up boathouse for storage of gear.

Trengilly Wartha Inn is within 2.5 miles and serves very good food. If you are bringing a boat, pop round to The Ferry Boat Inn at Helford Passage by water.

Port Navas Yacht Club – your local, quirky gem on the edge of Port Navas creek. For opening times and menu please visit www.pnyc.co.uk. Please book ahead with your hosts Nigel/Mike 01326 340065 as the venue is somewhat bijou! Dogs and children welcome. For boat moorings/berths – Tom 01326 340525

Whilst those visiting Calamansac are sure to want to spend most of their time exploring the idyllic Helford River and sheltered boating waters, it should be noted that the contrasting rugged cliffs of the Lizard Peninsula are only a twenty-five minute drive away.

Calamanzac is a delightful property in a wonderful setting. We have stayed here for many years and keep coming back. The team at Cornish Holiday Cottages are unfailingly helpful and friendly. I am sure we will be back.
