* New Property *
Nautical and whimsical, Captain’s Retreat faces south-west over Falmouth harbour. The ever changing array of boat activity on the harbour, is best viewed from the balcony, with a drink in hand and some kalamata olives and pistachios to accompany. In the heart of Falmouth, a town rich with maritime heritage, and a working, world renowned boatyard, this second floor apartment, is just yards from the National Maritime Museum Cornwall. If boats are not your thing, then Falmouth offers an array of excellent eateries, interesting shops, galleries and heritage pubs where many a story has been shared around the bar.
Castle Beach and its clear waters and friendly cafe, are a ten minute walk away for morning dips and beachcombing. Stroll along the seafront, taking in the blue expanse of Falmouth Bay and paddleboarders as they bob about. Pop into Gyllyngdune Gardens and the secret seashell cave, or carry on to Gylly Beach for a wider, sandy beach, café, restaurant, Co-Op and various excellent roadside food and coffee outlets.
This duplex apartment, with its substantial fittings, solid wood doors and flooring, has two comfortable double bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and a further cloakroom wc, on the lower floor.
Falmouth town train station, is just 5 minutes on foot. This short branch line, connects with mainline Truro and can take you to Penzance, St Ives, Bodmin and beyond, for relaxing day trips whilst taking in the scenery.

Captain’s Retreat is situated in the heights of the Martime House complex on Discovery Quay, with views onto the inner atrium and outer harbour, so is excellently appointed for all of Falmouth’s town facilities, and also offers a degree of quiet, if you exclude the morning cries of sea birds! No doubt you will enjoy watching the gig rowers setting off to train, small boat owners bimbling about, and the majestic sight of the working boats racing, on a Tuesday night in spring/summer, all from the comfort of your balcony.
If you are bringing your dog, then you will find that many establishments in Falmouth welcome pets, such as Indidog, the Chainlocker (ground floor and outside only), 45 Coffee House, Espressini, The Star and Garter and Sabzideli to name a few. Staying in a waterside apartment, you will like strolling around the harbour looking at all the boats whilst your dog enjoys the sniffs. For green space, follow the path adjacent to the trainline and reach the university and Fox Rosehill Gardens, or head to Pendennis Castle and loop round the castle for endless fun for your dog and brilliant sea views for you to enjoy
