Location and Surrounding Area
Whether it’s renting boats from Helford Passage to journey to the secret beaches and quays that line the Helford River, or travelling on foot along the South West Coast path, the Helford River is yours to explore. Dining out is a treat at Selangor, with the charming Ferryboat Inn just at the bottom of the hill. At sunset, eat on the terrace with its picture-perfect views of the river. Just a couple of miles away at Maenporth beach you’ll find The Cove Restaurant, now under the ownership of revered chef Michael Caines. In Falmouth you’ll find a thriving restaurant scene. Pay a visit to The Wheelhouse for unbeatable seafood, or seek out Indidog with it’s fantastic views out over the harbour.

The lush subtropical gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan, just a short stroll away, are oases of tropical pleasure. Or take the family to nearby Potager Garden to enjoy a hearty organic lunch in the greenhouse café. Then play ping-pong or badminton and explore the luscious gardens before spending a few hours relaxing in the sun at a nearby beach. The woodburner at Selangor makes for a cosy spot in the winter, and crisp, refreshing walks along the coast (and dropping into the odd thatched inn along the way) help to make this part of Cornwall a great year-round choice.

This is a lovely house in a beautiful position. It has a 1930's feel to it. The nine hole golf course of the Budock Vean Hotel is accessible from the rear garden. Cornish Holiday Cottages were excellent with nothing too much trouble. A refreshing change from some similar organisations. Highly recommend.
