Location and Surrounding Area

Falmouth is full to the brim with culture, character and things to keep everyone entertained. Creatives can immerse themselves in the world of art at Falmouth Art Gallery which boasts an impressive collection of British art from the 18th century to the present day. Historians will find joy in the town’s interesting past and should book a walking tour with Falmouth Uncovered if they wish to discover more about its secrets. Dive into Cornwall’s maritime heritage at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, where interactive exhibits and historic vessels provide a captivating look at the sea’s role in the region’s history.

Explore Falmouth’s creative collection of independent shops and galleries and return to your holiday abode via Jacob’s Ladder, a historic flight of 111 steps leading from the town centre to a panoramic view of the harbour.

Pop across the water via the ferry from The Prince of Wales Pier to visit the charming coastal village of St Mawes, making sure to explore all of its quaint streets and enjoy the picturesque harbour. Or travel in the other direction to check out Flushing village which you can see from your abode, we recommend eating at Harbour House; with outstanding fare and service this is a wonderful location to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Beyond ferry and foot, the Helford River can be reached by bus or car and promises tranquil days spent beside the estuary or walking through ancient woodlands which feature in the romantic writings of famous author, Daphne Du Maurier. For those happy to drive beyond the local area, ethereal light and white sands await at St Ives, while surf can be caught on north coast waves and giant mythology awakened at Bedruthan Steps.
