Based in Constantine just outside of Falmouth, sits the wonderful Potager Garden.
Brimming with greenery, and populated with greenhouses, allotments, artist studios and chicken coops, stumbling into Potager Garden Café feels like walking into a secret garden.
Hidden in the depths of Cornwall near the little village of Constantine, North Helford, and nestled amongst the plum trees of Potager garden in a converted greenhouse. Beautiful ‘potager’ refers to a French style of gardening that mixes ornamental and edible plants, some of which accompany and help make up the café’s delicious vegetarian menu. Serving yummy cakes and gorgeous breakfasts, the menu changes to keep up with the seasons but some of our favourite dishes include Turkish eggs and cauliflower fritter.
Aside from its delicious array of homemade cakes and pastries, its vibrant breakfast and lunch menu is populated with plant-based ‘potager-grown’ dishes that are bursting with flavour.
A team of dedicated volunteers help out with planting and landscaping at Potager, resulting in a beautifully cared for outdoor allotment and greenhouse garden. Inside, the greenhouse is lush and vibrant, with several chairs and tables spread out for afternoon teas and coffees. Dine inside the bright and airy greenhouse, accompanied by plants and growing vegetables.
Hammocks and games create a leisurely atmosphere and make Potager a friendly and peaceful retreat. Located close to the village of Constantine, just five miles west of Falmouth. Facilities include table tennis in the glasshouse, badminton, and boules in the garden.
Fitting with its community feel, the café holds regular craft workshops that are accompanied by fresh lunches and refreshments. From themed foodie nights to foraging walks, and from writing courses to wool weaving, the options are endlessly inspiring for those looking to try something a little different.
