Nancarrow Farm is a working organic farm known for its seasonal feasts, foodie events and gorgeous weddings. Nestled in an idyllic valley close to Truro, Cornwall, there are few better ways to enjoy an evening than to immerse yourself in beautiful surroundings, experience authentic hospitality and tuck greedily into show-stopping, seasonal dishes.
The original farm dates back to 1782, with four of the nine generations of the same family having farmed on the site. Owners Steve and Lucy Chamberlain have renovated several large barns over the past three years, transforming the space into a stylish setting for events. The farm’s furniture has been crafted from the wood found on the farm, as well as up-cycled furniture and recycled materials found on site.
Since opening its doors to the public in 2014, Nancarrow’s organic produce has been reared, prepared, cured and consumed on-site. Ingredients for their menu are sourced from local fishermen, hedgerows, the kitchen garden, fields, or larder.
The kitchen team specializes in wholesome, home-cooked dishes, served on big communal tables. At Nancarrow, food is at the heart and soul of everything. Those working on the farm pickle, harvest and cure throughout the year, with menus championing the produce of the season and hand-reared organic meat.
Their wood-fired kitchen fuelled by local woodsman, provides a unique backdrop, and the mouthwatering smells and sites of the courtyard kitchen set the scene for what promises to be a magical evening.
Regular popular feast nights, from £40 per person, are hosted throughout the year and are a beautiful alternative to traditional dining experiences. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to potter about the farm and take in the surroundings that the menus are inspired and made from.
