Situated in Penryn a short walk from the main high street and Penryn Woods, Sunshine Cafe is a hidden gem that once found is sure to quickly become your ‘go-to’ destination. A beautiful yoga studio and plant-based cafe with a focus on community and coming together to move, nourish, relax, grow and heal.
Founder Ella Kite’s vision to create a space for people to ‘gather, stretch, work, eat, laugh and heal’ is exemplified in her successful combination of purpose-built healing rooms, yoga studio and an accessible café with an additional mezzanine floor.
Dogs are welcome in the café, which is decorated with nature-themed art, white wall-panelled walls, wooden chairs and tables and a central wood-burner.
A variety of healthy and delicious hot and cold drinks are on offer during the day, such as their green goddess juice and healing turmeric lattes made using plant-based milk, and served in Emily Olivia Tapp ceramic tumblers.
Using high-quality superfood ingredients and made freshly in house, their changing breakfast and lunch menu includes items such as nourish bowls with crispy, sticky tofu, sushi rice, carrot ribbons, sesame marinated cucumbers and sriracha mayo, Happy Toast with homemade beans, and Grounded dal served with sourdough.
Visitors can sit and work inside the cafe with a laptop and the guidelines are 1 hour with drinks and cake, 2.5 hours if breakfast or lunch is purchased.
As well as a regular yoga schedule with skilled and well-loved teachers, Sunshine hosts one-off events such as sound baths, cacao ceremonies, vegan wine tasting and women’s circles.
