The Moth & The Moon is a cosy and comfortable alehouse set over two floors indoors, with a pavement terrace to the front and a three-tiered beer garden to the back which gets the very last of Falmouth’s sun.
Originally established as The mason Arms in 1861, this bottleshop and taphouse is run by the management that brought Falmouth ‘The Front’, close to Falmouth Custom House Quay.
Inside it has a dark yet modern and cosy interior, a relaxed atmosphere, a great selection of artisan spirits and friendly staff. Downstairs the bar room is open plan with an intimate snug, and upstairs there is further seating with a glass-sided outdoor smoking area in the centre.
The handsome green and brown palette is elevated with touches of gold and pops of botanical decor.
The beer garden to the rear is one of Falmouth’s finest and is the perfect place to enjoy drinks in the sun. On Tuesdays, you can enjoy their folk, acoustic and song sessions and on Wednesdays, their open mic night is a popular event. They have also been known to run fun cocktail-making courses and makers markets in their snug.
During the lockdown of 2020, the team transformed the space into a bottle shop for craft beers, ciders, organic wines, spirits and liqueurs, as well as offering certain local beers, ales and ciders on draught in cartons that customers could take away and enjoy at their leisure.
