Summary
This seaside holiday home in Falmouth is homely, with thoughtful touches and unique ocean panoramas, that are going to make it hard to leave.
Elysium is perfectly spacious enough for a family of four. Downstairs the open-plan living area invites guests to settle in and make the most of the vistas. The rooms’ calmly muted colours are enlivened by stylish pops of rich blue and bright, coastal artworks. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and bathrooms, including a twin room which kids will love and a bright double with those all-important sea views.
While the lure of Falmouth’s fabulous eateries is magnetic, evenings dining next to windows overlooking the pretty harbour and handsome Pendennis castle are just as divine.
Balmy summer days will fly by on the front courtyard where the elevated views of the estuary are the cherry on top of the cake for Cornish aficionados. This is the ultimate hidden space to bask in the sun and sip on rosé while looking out to sea.
When drizzly days postpone coastal escapades, a roaring wood-burner can be lit in the sitting room and bookworms will find solace in the comfy sofas that seem to engulf every limb. Alternatively, the colourful bunting-dotted town of Falmouth is a bit of a hotspot for trendy and cosy cafes, independent shops and a growing list of galleries that also offer creative workshops.
It would be a crime to leave without stepping foot in Brewery Yard on the Old High Street where creative cocktails, live music, and Alice in Wonderland interiors can be found at Chintz, and standout seasonal small plates are served with a smile at Restaurant Mine.
Elysium is a sweet homespun hideout for four, with rooms made for hunkering down, and outdoor spaces that make the most of the ever-changing views of Falmouth harbour.

The beaches are but a 15-minute walk away, along the beautiful tree-lined approach of Arwenack Avenue. Uncover the popular and pretty Blue Flag Gyllynvase Beach with its famous Gylly Beach Cafe.
Visitors who wish to explore further afield will love the scenic ferry trip to St Mawes or the quant village of Flushing where they will be greeted with waterside pubs and calmer beaches. Great location for Christmas in Falmouth. There were even lights and a little tree, appreciated, and the wood burner was cosy. The wonderful views over the harbour and coastline from every widow, loved sitting in bed watching the boats. Newly furnished and so generously and thoughtfully equipped with everything we could have needed, doing more cooking than I might of done on holiday. One of the best holiday homes we’ve stayed in. Would come again in summer and enjoy sitting in outside area.
