Falmouth is so well off for great restaurants, whether you want the laid back casual vibe of The Chainlocker, Falmouth’s oldest public house, or the plant-based delights of a Wilder Kitchen thali, or the unique dining experience of Restaurant Mine. Be sure to push the boat out at least once and enjoy a brunch cocktail and breakfast on the balcony at Indidog, or go all out for their incredible evening menu.

For dawn dips, join locals at the public garden and steps just before The Greenbank jetty and take the plunge into the harbour. Children jump from the wall at high tide, of an evening. Be sure to ask someone before you leap in, to make sure the water is deep enough. (There is a marker on the wall to signify that it is at the right level.)

Meander through the town, passing by the art galleries, two cinemas, many great independent coffee shops and make your way to the National Maritime Museum Cornwall and catch their latest exhibition and soak up the marine scenery. Ten minutes on by foot and you reach Castle Beach and its excellent cafe and turquoise waters. Head west a further ten and you are at Gyllyngvase (Gylly) Beach, where you can eat, drink, hire SUPs and go on water tours as a group.
