Created as part of the King Edward Minenon, on the outskirts of Camborne serving up local Cornish produce prepared, and cooked in-house wherever possible.
The King Edward Mine Museum was a teaching facility for the Camborne School of Mines for almost 100 years. On their doorstep, they also have The Great Flat Lode which has a 7.5km circular route suitable for walking and horse riding.
The original function of the building is represented both in the prize-winning sensitive restoration of the building and with information panels and images from the early years of the twentieth century.
Set within a beautifully restored miner’s office, you’ll find this lovely cafe serving baked goods, breakfast, lunch, and Sunday lunch delights. Cosy and charming with friendly and attentive staff.
Dishes on the menu include black sesame tempura cod burgers, their popular topped Korean fried chicken waffles, popcorn squid taco and Meatless burgers with dusted fries, plus cakes such as their vegan Biscoff slice, blackcurrant brownies and peanut butter flapjacks.
Inside light pours in through the glass walls and bounces off the wooden floor boards, chairs, and tables. Plants grow in abundance and the outdoor terrace is a tranquil place to enjoy a bite to eat after a day exploring the numerous local walks in Camborne.
There is no need to book unless you are a group of 8 or more in which case it is advised.
